Dexter is easily one of the best shows on television. I finished the third season the day before yesterday. I actually sat down just to watch one episode because my sister and I like watching it together but I couldn't stop. Six episodes later I was itching for the fourth season already. It's just an amazing show, it hasn't jumped the shark like all the other shows I like, and I love it for that. Who's watching the fourth season? Is it amazing? I expect nothing less. ♥

I did all my homework for class a day before it was due. I guess I had too long of a break between summer and fall and it's taken me longer to get back into the swing of things.

Life is deliciously boring. I do tons of shit not worth writing about but I love it. Right now I'm planning a little trip because I need a vacation, I didn't go anywhere this summer and it would just be nice to visit some place new.

Work is good, friends are good, finances are good, everything is good, and there's nothing to really talk about. I'm reading A Million Little Pieces and it's okay. The writing style is different, I get it, but it gets old after a while. I bought Sense and Sensibility at Barnes and Noble on Monday and that's the next Austen novel I'm reading after Mansfield Park. It's taken me longer to read this book because I hate staring at the screen (I'm reading it online). I'd rather have the book in front of me.

I watched the entire series of Weeds in like two weeks, I'm so hooked. I love everything about that show and I'm a little sad that I have to wait and wait for the 6th season. Still need to catch up on Dexter. I was debating whether or not to just buy the season 3 dvd but I really want to get the box set for when it's all over :( Decisions. lol @ the things I have to decide on.

If you're still reading my entries wherein I rant about this really awful depressing shit, I just want to take the time to say I love you.

More bullshit. )

I've been watching Daria episodes these past three days and I really forgot how much I loved that show. AND! It's coming out on DVD next year!!11 I am so excited, I'm definitely pre-ordering it. I appreciate it so much more now that I'm older, which is nice.

I work later today, then I'm off the next two days, and I'll take advantage of the time off to start packing. I haven't done any packing yet and I have less than two weeks to get my shit together. Knowing me I won't fully finish packing until after I move but whatever. It'll be a nice distraction.

LOST talk (with spoilers) and Bingo results. )

Last night I went to dinner with my friends. Afterwards we went to a nearby hookah bar. It was my first time trying out a hookah. The bar was more like a lounge, with little light and a live music act playing (interesting music, I've never heard it before) and it was super relaxing. However, I ended up paying $12 bucks and I don't think it was worth it. I had a blast with my friends, though.

Earlier in the day we went to Blue Springs for a little picnic. It was so much fun. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and even though it rained for a little bit, we weren't bummed out. Instead we decided to eat and wait it out and I'm glad we did. I finally got batteries for my camera, so I took some pictures.

The entrance to the picnic area and the springs.
Some more pictures. )

  1. I voted for Adam and Kris on American Idol last night. It's the second time I've voted for any American Idol.
  2. I tried deviled eggs for the first time last night as well. Delicious.
  3. I had the Mother Lover song (see video on my last entry or search for 'Mother Lover SNL') stuck in my head all day. ALL DAY. This sucked.
  4. Started homework yesterday, finished all of it for one class (Accounting). The textbook seems as if it was written for a 7th grade student. I was insulted tbh.
  5. LOST season finale tonight! I took a bingo card from [info]ontd_lost and made this: Look at my piece of artwork under the cut. )
  6. Today I'll be going on a barbecue/picnic with my friends. Should be fun.
  7. I found out yesterday I'm getting paid what I hoped for at the restaurant. This was really good news.
  8. I'm coming out of my swine flu bubble finally.
  9. Life is good.

Baby animals <3 I love nice, simple photos like these without a lot of cross-processing. Such a rare thing to find on Flickr unfortunately.

Today I woke up feeling like--pardon my french--absolute shit. I have a small flu bug thing and it leaves me feeling light headed, droopy, and very very achy (achey?). I took some meds (usually I don't but this time it's pretty lame) and hopefully I'll feel better. I still went to work but I don't think that helped. The busiest of the day at the restaurant is Mother's Day so of course I got sick today of all days. Oh and I also got Aunt Flo coming to visit as well. Super.

My sister and I bought my Mother a nice card, some summer clothes (she was complaining she didn't have any), make-up, and a DVD we knew she'd love (007 Casino Royale). She loved them all and even modeled some of the clothes for us and she looked pretty bangin' tbh.

To distract me from feeling all kinds of crappy I've been watching Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek the original series (to prep myself a bit for the movie). Tomorrow I might call out of work at the mall if I still feel like crap but I really want to see Star Trek so I don't know, I might get wheeled over to the movie theater tomorrow night. Maybe I'll guilt trip some of my friends to come along with me, who knows.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. Tell your mothers you love them, even if that's the last thing you feel for them at the moment. We won't have them around forever. ♥

Okay, first: Heroes rape. The season finale last night was AMAZING. So many things happened, so many questions are still swirling in my head, and I'm still reeling from what I saw. And to think that next season will be here in what, almost a year? I fucking hate that. It'll eat at me for a few more days and then I'll forget about it but still. Right now it's irritating because I have to know everything, or the world will clearly go to hell.

This morning a couple came and took Leo to his new home. They were very friendly and happy and I was glad that I found a nice home for him. I thought about him all day, wondering if he liked his new home, if he's happy, etc. I hope he really likes the female cockatiel his new owner has, Trixie. I think it'll be nice for Leo to have a little wife and make babies. I'm already planning my first visit. It's still strange to me how quiet my room is now that he's gone. I'm going to miss him.

My sister and I are planning to get an apartment in late August/early September and we already have an idea for a place. All we need to do is have a little tour, apply, and save money. We'll be going with my Mom to see the apartments sometime soon. I hope they're not horrible because then I'd have to begin the search over again and the lazy ass in me just doesn't want to. It'll be hard work to have everything settled but I know it'll all be worth it.

I actually work the next five days. That hasn't happened in months.

Oh, and I'm still posting random links on Web Inspired if anyone's interested. I also took down the ads because really, I have two jobs, what is wrong with me.

I've been watching Mad Men a lot recently. I'm up to season 2, episode 5, and although not a ton happens in the series, I can't help but watch it. I'm drawn to the 60's vibe, I guess. The dialogue is the best part, I think. That and the expectations regarding marriage and women. It's just so different from what I'm used to. And so elegant. Every time I watch this show I want to take up some etiquette classes and I don't know, just be glamorous and proper.

Is it weird that I'm looking forward to this week because of new television shows? Easily the highlight of my week.

Or will continue to watch, whichever:

LOST
Season Premiere 1/21
One of my absolute favorite shows, ever. Even when it had its sucky season (Season 2-Mid Season 3 anyone?) I was still hooked.

American Idol
Season Premiere 1/14
I've always tuned in to this show. Last season I was a bit AWOL but depending on this season's contestants, I'll be watching every Tuesday.

Gossip Girl
I honestly have no good reason for why I watch this show. I love Nate, I like Chuck, Blair's okay, and that's about it. I always watch it though.

Grey's Anatomy
Another one of my favorites. I've never missed an episode and I still find it interesting to watch. I wish Addison wasn't off in her own show though.

Heroes
Season Premiere 2/2
This show is totally bipolar but I still love it. I am so over Suresh and Nathan being the leader of the new How Can We Keep Fucking Up crew but whatever. I miss Elle.

Top Chef
This show is always good. I've never seen an episode where it wasn't. Even this season, when the characters aren't as interesting, I still look forward to the challenges.

House
Season Premiere 1/19
Sometimes Dr. House gets on my nerves, not gonna lie, but that's okay because the cases are super interesting and make up for well, anything.

Shows I would be watching if I would've gotten off my ass and gotten all caught up: 30 Rock and The Office.

I got my Christmas package from my best friend Brent today! He painted this little Frida Kahlo on canvas for me <3 She's beautiful isn't she? I think he's so talented, I wish he'd show everyone his amazing art. I also got a Michael's gift card, a book on Frida Kahlo, a beautiful journal, and a pair of gorgeous earrings. It's safe to say this Christmas was the best Christmas I've had in a long time. I am so lucky.

New Year's Eve was way better than last year's. For one, I actually visited with friends and family. While my friend Nina and I went to grab some late night ice cream we came across this crazy kid who tried to sell us some "bud". I left her to save the day while I looked for energy drinks. We had a good laugh about it. Back at my friend's house we played Catchphrase while waiting for the ball to drop. My god, how addicting is that game?! I absolutely love it. I haven't laughed so hard in ages. Once the countdown finished we all headed outside to shoot some fireworks. Like I said in my blog, I almost shot my eye out, but it was fun regardless. I had a great time. I hope you all did too.

Some of my friends came over today. We watched the first two episodes of the HBO series True Blood. So far I think it's pretty good, but I won't know until I finish the first season. I have the rest of the episodes saved on my DVR so I'll know then. Oh and American Idol premieres on January 13th! Anyone else watching this year? Or have you, like most of my friends, given up on the entire show? I wouldn't blame you if you have tbh.

I'll be seeing The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on Sunday. I wish I could've seen it earlier but my sister and I have conflicting schedules and Sunday is the only day we can see it together.

I have this song stuck in my head. I don't know why. I haven't heard it recently or anything. Weird.
